The present invention pertains to a control device for a stepless transmission, provided with a stepless transmission mechanism (32) for changing the speed of the drive force of a drive source (10) in a stepless manner, a low-speed input pathway (36, 38, 28, 26, 32a) for inputting drive force to one end side of the stepless transmission mechanism (32) and a high-speed input pathway (40, 42, 30, 26, 32b) for inputting drive force to the other end side, an input pathway switching means (34) for selectively switching the input pathway, and a control means (100) for controlling the stepless transmission mechanism (32) and the input pathway switching means (34), the control device being configured such that, when it is assessed that a vehicle (14) has rapidly decelerated to a prescribed travel state, the transmission ratio of the stepless transmission mechanism (32) is maintained at a prescribed transmission ratio, and when the vehicle speed is equal to or less than a prescribed speed, the input pathway is switched (S16 to S20). The present invention thereby simplifies gearshifting in which the stepless transmission mechanism (32) shifts from a high-speed travel state to a restarting state, and makes it possible to shorten the time required to switch the input pathway.
