Provided is a control device for a vehicle drive device capable of increasing the regeneration amount of an electric motor when the motor regenerates energy. When regenerative braking of a vehicle (8) is performed by the regenerative operation of a second electric motor (MG2) corresponding to the above motor, an engine (12) is brought into a non-operation state and the engagement force of a lock-up clutch (LC) is increased as a vehicle speed (V) becomes higher. Accordingly, when the second electric motor (MG2) regenerates energy, as the vehicle speed (V) becomes higher, higher priority is placed on the torque loss of a torque converter (16) than on the rotational resistance of the engine (12) and the input/output rotational speed difference of the torque converter (16) is reduced by the lock-up clutch (LC). Therefore, the regeneration loss of the second electric motor (MG2) is reduced in consideration of both the rotational resistance of the engine and the torque loss of the torque converter (16). Accordingly, when the second electric motor (MG2) regenerates energy, the regeneration amount of the second electric motor (MG2) can be increased in comparison with, for example, a case in which the lock-up clutch (LC) is left released regardless of the vehicle speed (V).
