Abstract:
Provided is a control device for a work machine which allows for a reduction in fuel consumption. The work machine has a vehicle body, an implement supported by the vehicle body, and an engine that is a drive source for the implement. The control device for the work machine comprises a rotation speed setting member (48) that can be manually operated for setting the target rotation speed of the engine, and a controller that selectively executes either normal control or intervention control. When the normal control is executed, an engine controller (34) controls the engine at the target rotation speed based on the operation of the rotation speed setting member (48). When the intervention control is executed, an intervention controller (60) estimates the work content of the implement. The engine controller (34) sets the target rotation speed corresponding to the estimated work content, and controls the engine at the set target rotation speed regardless of the operation amount of the rotation speed setting member (48).
