Abstract:
A microcomputer (406) is provided with: a voltage application unit (406a) that selectively applies a normal voltage for oxygen removal and a voltage for oxygen removal higher than the normal voltage to a first cell for removing oxygen from exhaust gas discharged from an internal combustion engine; an element temperature detection unit (406b) that detects an element temperature parameter representing the temperature of a cell constituting an exhaust gas sensor; and an end determination unit (406c) that determines the timing for ending the application of the voltage for oxygen removal on the basis of the element temperature parameter.
