A control method for an air conditioner comprising an indoor unit and a purification module. The control method comprises: causing an air conditioner to enter a purification mode; acquiring a temperature at an air outlet of an indoor unit; and adjusting a position of a purification module according to the temperature at the air outlet of the indoor unit. In the method, when an air conditioner enters a purification mode, a temperature at an air outlet of an indoor unit is acquired, and a position of a purification module is adjusted according to the temperature at the air outlet of the indoor unit, such that condensate water is not formed in the indoor unit when the indoor unit is at an excessively low temperature, thereby eliminating the problem in which condensate water is pushed out of an air conditioner to impact an indoor environment and cause accidents, and accordingly improving user experience.
