Abstract:

A control method for a screw tightener having an electric motor as a rotation drive source wherein the motor generate a pulse-like output torque. The actual torque TQ is measured at a specified time interval. If it does not exceeds the maximum torque measured before, the output torque is controlled to be maintained. If the measured torque exceeds the maximum torque, the output torque is controlled to increase by a specified amount. When the increased torque reaches a desired level TQJ, the motor is stopped.
