Abstract:
A hybrid vehicle control method for controlling a hybrid vehicle comprising: an internal combustion engine; a generator that is driven by the internal combustion engine; a travel motor having both a power travel drive using electric power and a regenerative drive using input from a drive wheel; a battery that accepts power from the generator and the travel motor; and a turbocharger that can be driven with either the power of the battery or the exhaust energy discharged from the internal combustion engine, wherein when a deceleration request occurs, a deceleration control is executed in which the travel motor is regeneratively driven, whereby braking power is generated, and when the deceleration control is executed, if the charge rate of the battery is at or above a threshold value, a power consumption control is executed in which the turbocharger is driven using the power of the battery with the internal combustion engine stopped.
