The present invention relates to the field of air conditioner control techniques. Provided are a control method and device for self-cleaning of an air conditioner. The method comprises: acquiring a current temperature value and a current humidity value of a space in which an air conditioner is located; determining a current temperature difference value between the current temperature value and a set temperature value and a current humidity difference value between the current humidity value and a set humidity value; and determining, according to the current temperature difference value, a target operating frequency of a compressor, and determining, according to the current temperature difference value and the current humidity value, whether to activate an electrical heater and an output power upon activation of the electrical heater. The dual control method for controlling the temperature and humidity of an air conditioner enables operation of a compressor and an electrical heater to be adjusted according to indoor environment parameters such as a temperature and a humidity, thereby controlling an operating frequency of the compressor to achieve temperature and humidity control in an indoor environment.
