Abstract:
In the present invention, when changing gears during implementation of EGR the operational state of the vehicle after the gear change is predicted when a fuel cut condition is satisfied. When it is predicted that the fuel economy will be relatively improved when a fuel cut is not implemented, a fuel cut is not implemented, and when it is predicted that the fuel economy will be relatively improved when a fuel cut is implemented, a fuel cut is implemented. In other words, a fuel cut is not implemented when changing gears during implementation of EGR and it is predicted that the effect of EGR after the gear change with respect to improving fuel economy will be relatively large, and a fuel cut is implemented when it is predicted that the effect of EGR after the gear change with respect to improving fuel economy will be relatively small. Thus, it is possible to relatively improve the fuel economy of a vehicle when changing gears during implementation of EGR.
