Abstract:
Provided is a control method for a reductant generation device 100 comprising: a sprayer 10 capable of spraying a reductant precursor 50; and a heater 20 including a ceramic base 21, the heater 20 being disposed downstream of the sprayer 10 and capable of generating a reductant 60 by heating the reductant precursor 50. This control method includes: an infiltrating step for spraying the reductant precursor 50 through the sprayer 10 when the heater 20 is not heated, and infiltrating the reductant precursor 50 into the ceramic base 21; and a heating step A for heating the reductant precursor 50 with the heater 20 after the infiltrating step, and generating the reductant 60 while spraying the reductant precursor 50 through the sprayer 10.
