A control method of a supercapacitor device for assisting AGC frequency modulation of a thermal power generation unit, comprising: determining an intermediate working voltage Umid of a supercapacitor; controlling the supercapacitor device for assisting AGC frequency modulation of the thermal power generation unit, consisting of two parts respectively used for controlling a DC-DC converter and a DC-AC converter, a control objective of the DC-DC converter being to keep a DC busbar voltage Ubus as a constant value; and a control method of the DC-AC converter is to respond to a frequency modulation instruction by adjusting a DC busbar current Ibus.
