Abstract:
Provided is a control rod operation monitoring method that is capable of enhancing the accuracy of determination as to whether to generate a control rod insertion prevention signal during the operation of a nuclear reactor. Four neutron detector assemblies 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D that include a plurality of LPRMs 6 disposed in the axial direction of a reactor core are disposed so as to be adjacent to each of a plurality of insertion selection control rods 4 that are simultaneously inserted into the reactor core. Neutron flux ratio calculation units 51 that are provided for every four or three neutron detector assemblies 5 use neutron flux ratio calculation devices 13A to calculate the ratios (BA/AA, CA/AA, and DA/AA) of the average LPRM signals of the LPRMs 6 at a position B, a position C, and a position D to the average LPRM signal of the LPRMs 6 at a position A that is the closest to the control rod insertion end of the reactor core. When the maximum neutron flux ratio from among these neutron flux ratios exceeds a set neutron flux ratio, a control rod insertion prevention signal generated by a local-area control-rod-insertion monitoring device 11A is output.
