Abstract:
A control system (30) for a cooking device (10) is provided, which may have an optical sensor (46) that monitors a browning level of an exterior surface area of a food product (T) in the cooking device (10). The cooking device (10) may have a supplemental light source (40) which is bright enough to mitigate the influence of variable light sources illuminating the exterior surface area to improve the accuracy of the measures of the browning of the food product (T).
