Abstract:

The purpose of the present invention is to detect, on the vehicle side and by using simple wiring, fan motor errors. Provided is a control system for a cooling fan for vehicles, comprising: a fan control device (2) having a motor control device (21) that controls a three-phase motor (30) that drives a cooling fan; a vehicle-side ECU (3) that controls the vehicle and is higher-ranked than the fan control device (2); and an air-conditioning system ECU that controls an air conditioner in the vehicle. The fan control device (2), the vehicle-side ECU (3), and the air-conditioning system ECU are connected via a vehicle network CAN (7) so as to be capable of sending and receiving information. The fan control device (2) outputs error information via a CAN driver (82), if an error has been detected in a switching element (22). If the error information has a high level of importance, the vehicle-side ECU (3) performs protective control of the fan control device (2) and the air-conditioning system ECU, via the vehicle network CAN (7).
