Abstract:
This control system for a mobile robot 1 is provided with: a drive unit 11 that changes the movement speed and the traveling direction of the mobile robot 1; first detection units 121, 122 that detect a plurality of first to-be-detected objects 2 disposed along a traveling path to a target point; a second detection unit 124 that detects at least one second to-be-detected object 4 indicating a stoppage position of the mobile robot 1 at the target point; and a control unit 13 that controls these constituents. When the mobile robot 1 starts movement to the target point, the control unit 13 executes drive control by the drive unit 11 by use of first detection units 121, 122 that detect the first to-be-detected objects 2. When the mobile robot 1 has reached a predetermined distance set in advance to the target point, the control unit 13 switches to stoppage control by the drive unit 11 by use of the second detection unit 124 that detects the second to-be-detected object 4. With this configuration, this control system is able to simplify a system configuration and attain cost reduction, while improving the positioning accuracy of the mobile robot 1.
