Abstract:
The present invention pertains to the field of electrical engineering and power generation techniques and may be used as a continuously controlled resistor, or as a static compensator for excess power in electric networks. This invention can also be used for voltage stabilisation, for substantially limiting internal overvoltages on power transmission lines and for limiting short-circuiting currents in power networks. This invention also limits the superior harmonics in the current of the reactor main (network) winding down to a level allowing for the exploitation of the power networks. This invention also allows for the phase-by-phase control of the reactor, reduces the electric steel consumption and reduces the reactor response to 10 microseconds. To this end, the reactor includes a compensation winding arranged between the main and the control windings, while an odd-harmonics filter system is introduced and the magnetic conductor is divided into three parallel sections.
