Abstract:
A controller for an electric steering device has an SAT estimation section for estimating
an SAT of a vehicle by inputting the angular speed and angular acceleration of
a motor, steering torque, and current command value, and also has a motor current correction
value calculating section for judging traveling conditions of the vehicle based
on an SAT estimation value that is estimated by the SAT estimating section, the
vehicle speed, and the steering angle and correcting, according to the traveling
conditions, the current command value by calculating a motor current correction
value based on the SAT estimation value. With such an arrangement, offset torque
is accurately corrected at all times regardless of traveling conditions including
conditions of a road surface and the fact such as that the vehicle is traveling
straight, and comfortable steering performance can be attained by reducing
fatigue of the vehicle driver.
