Abstract:
The invention discloses a controller for an electromagnetic system of an AC contactor, which includes a full voltage energizing circuit and a freewheeling circuit. Its main character is that the freewheeling circuit consists of an energizing coil and a field effect transistor in series, when breaking, the field-effect transistor is switch-off by an electronic delayer, wherein the delay time of the electronic delayer is less than the freewheeling decay time constant. In this invention, an electronic circuit is used for controlling the excitation current of a DC electromagnet, when breaking, the excitation current is switch-off by the field-effect transistor to make iron core fleetly trend toward zero from steady-state value, wherein the delay time is even shorter than a breaker's. When the sum of the maximal opening distances of the two breaking zones is equal to or more than the breaking zone distance of the breaker, the contactor has not only the same ability to break the short current as the breaker has, but shorter arcing time and longer electrical life. Because of the double-break contact, the break, speed is also faster than the breaker's.
