Abstract:
 Provided is a controller for an internal combustion engine that can appropriately correct an injection amount relative to fuel properties and/or fuel pressure, in accordance with a valve-body-closed position of a fuel injection device. The controller for an internal combustion engine is provided with an injection pulse generator (120a) and an injection pulse corrector (120b). In one engine cycle, the injection pulse generator (120a) generates injection pulses of a fully-opening lift and an intermediate lift so that at least one fully-opening lift is performed for stopping a valve body at a fully open position, and at least one intermediate lift is performed for stopping the valve body at a prescribed position between a fully closed position and the fully open position. For positive increments of a status variable indicating the status of fuel, the injection pulse corrector (120b) corrects the injection pulse width of the injection pulses of the fully-opening lift and the intermediate lift so that the absolute value of the valve-opening time increment of the intermediate lift is greater than the absolute value of the valve-opening time increment of the fully-opening lift.
