Abstract:
Provided is a controller for a power transmission device for a vehicle, which performs torque down control during a gear shift operation of an automatic gear shifter and enables reductions in the size and cost of an electric circuit including a smoothing capacitor. A torque reduction limit control means (94) executes torque reduction limit control for limiting the reduction of second electric motor torque (Tmg2) such that the smoothing capacitor voltage (Vcon) which temporarily rises in connection with a reduction in the second electric motor torque (Tmg2) during the torque down control does not exceed a preset inverter withstand voltage (Vmax). Thus, it is not necessary to set a smoothing capacitor capacity (Ccon) on the assumption that the second electric motor torque (Tmg2) sharply reduces without specific limit during the torque down control, and therefore the smoothing capacitor capacity (Ccon) can be set small. More specifically, it becomes possible to reduce the size and cost of a power supply control circuit (60) including an inverter smoothing capacitor (66).
