Abstract:
A controller of a sewing machine for detecting a needle position comprising a first pulley (19) coupled with a shaft of a motor (7) driving a spindle of the sewing machine, a second pulley (13) coupled with the spindle of the sewing machine, a belt (17) for transmitting the rotation of the first pulley to the second pulley, designation means (103) for designating the needle position as the reference, angle detection means (9) for detecting the rotating angle of the motor, and calculation means (53) for calculating the rotating angle of the sewing machine shaft, wherein the needle position can be calculated on the basis of the designated needle position and the detected motor rotating angle without using a needle position detector.
