Abstract:
Disclosed is a compact controller which enables the operator of the controller to easily handle the same and accurately provide control directions thereto as well as readily check close at hand the operation of a driving device used to move an object, and a transfer assembly which includes the controller. The controller is adapted to direct the operation of the driving device used to move the object by varying the amount or the direction of relative rotation between a first housing (20) and a second housing (30). The first housing and the second housing are brought closer to each other along the rotational axis of the relative rotation and provided with respective outer surfaces which are generally the same in diameter around the rotational axis of the relative rotation at the closer position or in the vicinity thereof or which are generally circular in a cross section perpendicular to the rotational axis of the relative rotation. The outer surface which is provided on each of the first and second housings has an indicator section (41) which indicates information regarding the amount or the direction of the relative rotation in a manner such that the operator can visually check the information.
