Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for operating an indirect-heating, heat pump type water heater system which can prevent an increase in the risk of running out of hot water while providing an improved average COP (Coefficient of Performance) during a boiling period. The method is applied to the indirect-heating, heat pump type water heater system (1000), allowing either one or both of the temperature of water in a tank and the temperature of a second refrigerant flowing through a water circuit (21) to be used to estimate a change in the heat transfer efficiency of a second heat exchanger (29). When the heat transfer efficiency is determined to be high, an operation switching section (3) allows a heat source machine (20) to increase output, whereas when the heat transfer efficiency is determined to be low, the heat source machine (20) is allowed to decrease output.
