Abstract:
This controller (50), which is arranged in a vehicle Vh, continuously adjusts the intensity of light-shielding by a dimming window (20) arranged in the vehicle (Vh). A surveyor (51) continuously calculates the position of the sun Sn seen from the position of the vehicle (Vh) on the earth on the basis of a satellite positioning system Sp and the time. A compass (52) continuously detects the orientation of the vehicle (Vh) at the position of the vehicle on the earth. A goniometer (53) uses the position of the sun Sn and the orientation of the vehicle (Vh) to continuously calculate the elevation angle and azimuthal angle of sunlight emitted directly onto the vehicle (Vh). A modulator (56) continuously and electrically adjusts the intensity of light-shielding by the dimming window (20) depending on the calculated change in the elevation angle and azimuthal angle of sunlight. The modulator (56) increases light-shielding of the dimming window (20) when sunlight crosses the dimming window (20). The modulator (56) decreases light-shielding of the dimming window (20) when sunlight does not cross the dimming window (20).
