A process for the manufacture of new stable, crystalline salts of N-[2-(dimethylamino)-ethyl]-1,2-dithiolane-3-pentanamide (racemic and chiral forms) with good water solubility that are useful as antioxidant compounds and effectively inhibit collagenase, elastase and tyrosinase enzymes is described.
