A conversation assisting device and a conversation assisting method for ensuring smooth conversation efficiently. Since a first display section (22) and a second display section (32) can be arranged at different angles, first and second users can converse with each other efficiently and smoothly while viewing the second display section (32) and the first display section (22), respectively. Furthermore, since the first display section (22) and the second display section (32) are provided, the second and first users can converse while facing with each other.
