Abstract:

The present invention terminates conversation communications that are executed for conversation between persons that are in spaces that are distanced from each other at timing that is appropriate for the conversing persons. A conversation communication system that stores a facial image for a conversing person, detects the distance (d) between the conversing person for whom the facial image has been stored and a display that is for displaying video, detects the orientation of the face of the conversing person, and determines, in accordance with the detected distance (d) and with the orientation of the face, whether to continue conversation communications. When the detected orientation of the face is an orientation in which the face directly faces the display, the present invention makes a determination to continue conversation communications. When the detected orientation of the face is different from the orientation in which the face directly faces the display, if the detected distance (d) subsequently increases, the present invention terminates conversation communications when condition (1) and/or (2) is met. (1) The conversing person is in a position in which the distance (d) cannot be detected. (2) The detected orientation of the face stays for a preset period of time or longer in an orientation that is different from the orientation in which the face directly faces the display.
