Abstract:
Disclosed is a conversation detection device which uses a head-mounted microphone array and can determine with a high degree of accuracy whether or not a speaker in front of the person wearing the microphone array is a conversation partner. A conversation detection device (100) is provided with: a self-generated utterance detection section (102) for detecting utterances generated by a person wearing a microphone array (101); a frontal utterance detection section (103) for detecting utterances of a speaker in front of the wearer as frontal utterances; a lateral utterance detection section (104) for detecting utterances of a speaker(s) to the left and/or right of the wearer as lateral utterances; a lateral-conversation establishment-degree deriving section (105) for calculating the degree to which a conversation has been established between the self-generated utterances and lateral utterances, said calculation being performed in accordance with the self-generated utterance and lateral utterance detection results; a frontal conversation detection section (106) for detecting whether or not a frontal conversation is taking place, said detection being performed in accordance with the frontal utterance detection result and the lateral-conversation establishment-degree calculation result; and an output sound control section (107) for controlling the directionality of sound output to a person wearing a hearing aid, said control being performed in accordance with whether or not it is determined that a frontal conversation is taking place.
