Abstract:
A converter comprises: a converter circuit including a rectifying unit for rectifying an alternating current voltage and a smoothing unit for smoothing a direct current voltage rectified by the rectifying unit; a diagnostic device for diagnosing a problem of the converter circuit; an inrush current prevention unit for preventing an inrush current which is introduced into the smoothing unit; and a conversion unit for supplying an alternating current to the converter circuit through a path different from a voltage supply path of the inrush current prevention unit, wherein the diagnostic device controls the inrush current prevention unit and the conversion unit to determine a defective part of the converter circuit.
