Abstract:
Provided are: a converter lens which is sufficiently thin in the thickness direction of the camera, while maintaining a variable-power ratio of approximately 3x; and an imaging optical system. A converter lens (CL) is designed so as to change angular magnification of the converter lens (CL) by varying power by changing an interval between internally housed lenses, and is designed in a manner such that the luminous flux incident on the converter lens (CL) forms a primary image in the converter lens (CL) and is then incident on a main lens (ML). To this end, the converter lens (CL) has a reflective optical element for bending an optical path.
