Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a conveyance device 10 and a conveyance method capable of efficiently moving multiple parts P after cutting. This conveyance device 10 is for picking up multiple parts P obtained by cutting a sheet material S from a placement surface 11a of a pickup table 11 on which the parts P are placed, and moving the parts, said conveyance device being characterized by comprising: a control unit 75 for storing part position information indicating positions of the multiple parts P in the sheet material S; a pickup unit 3 where multiple suction parts 32, each having a suction port 32a for suction by negative pressure, are arranged side by side on a lower surface thereof; a suction-assisting means (open/close valve 34 and control unit 75) for assisting with the suction of the parts P by the suction parts 32 on the basis of the positions of the parts P indicated by the parts position information; and a conveyance means (conveyance mechanism unit 2 and control unit 75) for causing the pickup unit 3 holding the parts P by suction to move in a substantially horizontal conveyance direction X.
