Abstract:
The present invention provides a conveyance guide drive mechanism which makes, in a paper sheet conveying device provided with a wide conveyance surface that can be used in common for paper sheets with different width dimensions, correction so as to achieve a normal conveyance state while preventing deformation and damage during continuous and non-intermittent conveyance. The conveyance guide drive mechanism comprises conveyance guides 310 which are disposed facing each other along both widthwise side edges of a conveyance surface 11 to respectively guide both side edges of paper sheets being conveyed, an advancing/retracting mechanism 350 that synchronously moves each of the conveyance guides to protrude and retract in a predetermined direction, stoppers 440 which respectively define protruding positions where each of the conveyance guides 310 protrudes most from the conveyance surface 11 and retracted positions where each of the conveyance guides 310 is retracted toward the conveyance surface side from the protruding positions, and a DC motor 450 that drives the advancing/retracting mechanism 350.
