Abstract:
A cooking apparatus (10) and methods of forming are provided. The cooking apparatus has a cooking surface (12), a sidewall (14) depending from the cooking surface, and a handle (18) is provided. The handle has a saddle portion (20) and a gripping portion (22). The saddle portion includes a first opening (24) defined therethrough and a first recess (32) defined about the first opening. The saddle portion is adjacent the sidewall so that the first recess defines a first gap (40) between the sidewall and the saddle portion. A first rivet (26) secures the handle to the sidewall. The rivet has a first weldament (42) in the first gap, a first shaft (28) in the first opening, and a first head (30) abutting the handle and covering the first opening.
