A cooking appliance (100), comprising: a pot body (10), wherein the cross section of the pot body (10) has a long axis and a short axis which are orthogonal to each other, and the pot body (10) comprises an outer pot (11) and an inner pot (12) which is arranged within the outer pot (11), an upper edge of the outer pot (11) being constructed with an outer pot outwardly flanged edge (111); a lid (20), wherein the lid (20) is disposed on the pot body (10) and has a cross section which is adapted to the shape of the cross section of the pot body (10), the lid (20) comprising an outer lid (21), and the edge of the outer lid (21) having a downwardly extending side wall (212), a bottom end portion of the side wall (212) being pressed by the weight thereof against the outwardly flanged edge (111); a sealing ring (23), the sealing ring (23) being placed between a top portion of the inner pot (12) and the outer lid (21). In a non-cooking state, the cooking appliance (100) prevents the gravity of the outer lid (21) from squeezing the sealing ring (23), and the sealing ring (23) is provided in the vertical direction with a movable gap, thereby achieving dynamic sealing and ensuring that the sealing ring (23) has space for free expansion within the lid (20), thus ensuring the reliability in sealing the product.
