A cookware article comprises a metal-based cookware lower portion (1), a cookware body (2) made of a glass or ceramic material, and a sealing structure preventing leakage between the cookware lower portion (1) and the cookware body (2). The cookware lower portion (1) has a relatively level bottom portion (11) and a surrounding portion (12) extending upward from an edge of the bottom portion (11). A protruding support (13) is formed inwardly on an inner wall of the surrounding portion (12). The cookware body (2) is open at upper and lower ends, and a lower portion of the cookware body (2) is inserted inside the surrounding portion (12). The edge of a bottom portion of the cookware body (2) is mounted on the protruding support (13). The cookware bottom portion (1) is metal, and therefore has desirable heat transfer performance during use, enabling food to be rapidly heated. The cookware body (2) is glass or ceramic, and therefore has a desirable heat retaining property and compactness, so that the temperature of food can be kept for a long time, and nutrients of food are not easily lost during cooking. Such a cookware article has a simple structure and has both the advantages of a metal cookware and a glass cookware.
