Abstract:
Provided is a compact coolant pump that improves motor efficiency and can stably feed a liquefied coolant; also provided is a binary power generation system using such a coolant pump. A coolant pump (6) comprises: a pump unit (40) for feeding a liquefied coolant by elevation of pressure; a motor unit (31) for driving the pump unit; a drive shaft (30) for transmitting rotational drive force produced by the motor unit to the pump unit; and a casing (20) that comprises a pump chamber (60) and a motor chamber (70) that house the pump unit and the motor unit, respectively, in sealed states. The pump unit is an internal gear pump disposed on the end of the drive shaft. The drive shaft comprises through-holes (50, 51) that enable communication between the pump chamber and the motor chamber. The casing comprises an exhaust flow path (54) that connects the motor chamber to a low-pressure line (5d) of a binary power generation system (1).
