Abstract:
The present invention is provided with: a carbonizing furnace for carbonizing biomass molded bodies to obtain a carbonized biomass; a classifying means which is disposed on the downstream side of the carbonizing furnace and which is for classifying the carbonized biomass; and a cooling means which is disposed on the downstream side of the classifying means and which is for cooling the classified carbonized biomass. The biomass molded bodies are molded bodies obtained by pulverization and subsequent molding of a starting material biomass, and the cooling means cools the carbonized biomass by sprinkling water thereon.
