Title:
COOLING CONTROL DEVICE FOR ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/027495
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A cooling control device for an engine is provided with a radiator which cools the coolant in the engine by subjecting the coolant to heat exchange with outside air, an electric shutter which can block the flow of air to the radiator, and an electric water pump which circulates the coolant in a coolant circulation circuit including the radiator. In a first cooling mode in which the temperature of the coolant is lower than a low-temperature-side set value (Te1), the cooling control device closes the electric shutter to reduce air flow resistance and performs heat exchange by operating the electric water pump. If the temperature of the coolant increases and reaches a temperature higher than or equal to the low-temperature-side set value (Te1), the cooling control device selects a second cooling mode, in which the electric shutter is opened, to increase the amount of flow of air to the radiator, promoting heat exchange. In this process, the output of the electric water pump is reduced by a predetermined output reduction amount (ΔE) to minimize and prevent an excessive decrease in the temperature of the coolant caused by the opening of the electric shutter.
