Battery cooling performance can be ensured while satisfying NV performance and both battery lifetime and fuel economy can be improved. When Eco mode is selected, the air volume (Q) of a cooling fan (34) can be increased or the fan rotation speed (NFAN) can be increased as compared with that in normal mode. Therefore, when the Eco mode is selected, for example, battery cooling is prioritized over the improvement of NV performance. As a result, the battery temperature (THBAT) is more decreased, so that electric power that can be stored in a battery pack (28), for example, energy that is regenerated by a motor (M) is increased, thereby enabling the actual fuel economy to be improved. In addition, since the battery temperature (THBAT) is more decreased, the battery lifetime can also be improved. That is, when the user prefers to driving having a priority in the fuel economy, a criterion for satisfying the NV performance is relaxed and the air volume (Q) of the cooling fan (34) is increased by an amount corresponding to the relaxation of the criterion for satisfying the NV performance, thereby improving the cooling performance.
