Abstract:
A cooling device for an internal combustion engine cools the internal combustion engine utilizing the vaporization of a refrigerant and is provided with: a gas-liquid separator for separating the refrigerant into a gas-phase refrigerant and a liquid-phase refrigerant; a valve provided in a passage for supplying a refrigerant from the gas-liquid separator to a condenser; a waste heat recovery unit connected between the gas-liquid separator and the valve and recovering the energy of waste heat of the internal combustion engine from the gas-phase refrigerant; and a control unit for controlling the state of opening and closing of the valve according to the output of the internal combustion engine requested by a driver.
