Abstract:

A cooling device for metal plates, comprising a plurality of first nozzles and second nozzles that are provided on both sides in the plate thickness direction of the metal plates, respectively, interposing the metal plate path line therebetween. Each of the plurality of first nozzles and second nozzles forms a staggered arrangement having a pitch of Xn in the plate width direction of the metal plates, a pitch of Yn in the longitudinal direction of the metal plates, and a displacement ΔXn in the plate width direction of a pair of first or second nozzles that are adjacent in the longitudinal direction. The staggered arrangement of the first nozzles and the staggered arrangement of the second nozzles are mutually displaced such that: the half axis in the plate width direction is ΔXn/4, using as the center therefof a position displaced by a shift amount S from the center of the first nozzles in the plate width direction; and the center of the second nozzles is within a region prescribed by an ellipse having a half axis in the longitudinal direction of Yn/3. The shift amount S is indicated by S = m × ΔXn/2, m being an odd number whereby S is closest to Xn/2.
