Abstract:
As it is difficult to improve cooling performance without leading to an increase in production cost in cooling devices using an ebullient cooling method, this cooling device has: a heat receiving unit that accepts heat from the subject of cooling; a heat releasing unit that releases heat by condensing/liquefying a gas-phase refrigerant generated by evaporating the refrigerant at the heat receiving unit; and a connecting unit that connects the heat receiving unit and the heat releasing unit. The heat receiving unit is provided with: a base that thermally contacts the subject of cooling; and a vessel that connects to the connecting unit. The base is provided with: a heat receiving unit outer wall that is a portion of the outer wall of the heat receiving unit; and a plurality of protrusions that are disposed on the heat receiving unit bottom surface, which is the bottom surface of at the inner wall side that contacts the refrigerant. A bubble nucleation surface is provided to a refrigerant-contacting surface comprising the surface of the protrusions and the heat receiving unit bottom surface. A gas-phase refrigerant unit containing gas-phase refrigerant is provided between the upper end of the protrusions and the bottom surface of the vessel.
