Abstract:
A cooling device for a steel material, the cooling device being provided with: a linear cooling pipe (11) through which a steel material (SM) passes; a cooling tank (19) formed at a part of the outer circumference of the cooling pipe; and a spray slit (21) that sprays cooling water on the steel material from the entire inner circumference of the cooling pipe, the cooling water being stored in the cooling tank, wherein the cooling pipe comprises a roller insertion hole (15) penetrating therethrough in the thickness direction, a part of a support roller (17) rotatably supported on the outside of the cooling pipe is disposed by passing through the roller insertion hole and protruding into the cooling pipe, and a lower part of the steel material passing through the cooling pipe is supported by the support roller.
