Abstract:
A flat cooling fan having a high efficiency, and a cooling fan assembly. The cooling fan 1 comprises a casing 2 composed of a casing main body 3 and a lid body 4 having a circular opening 42, a fan motor 5 incorporated in the casing 2, and a circuit board 8. A plurality of heat radiating plates 32 are erected on the outer peripheral section 312 of the main body 3. The motor 5 is constituted of a rotor 7 provided with seven blades 72 protruded outward and a stator 6 fixed to a bottom plate 31. The maximum outside diameter (b) of the blades 72 (the outside diameter of the large-diameter section 722) is larger than the inside diameter of the opening 42. The outside diameter (c) of the small-diameter section 723 of the blades 72 is smaller than the inside diameter of the opening 42. The rotor 7 does not come out of the opening 42 the air quantity is increased without increasing the thickness of the fan, and the cooling efficiency of the fan is improved.
