A cooling system is provided with: a cooling channel that comprises a circulation pump (6) for circulating a coolant containing antifreeze therein, and cools, with the coolant, power elements of a power conversion apparatus for a vehicle-mounted rotating electrical machine; a control signal calculation unit (110) for calculating the amount of heat to be generated by the power elements; a power-element temperature sensor (113) for detecting the temperature of the power elements; a coolant temperature sensor (115) for detecting the temperature of the coolant; and a control signal calculation unit (110). The control signal calculation unit (110) calculates, on the basis of the amount of heat-generation, the temperature of the power element, and the temperature of the coolant, a power-element cooling capacity that is the amount of heat transfer per unit temperature-difference to be transferred from the power elements to the coolant, and reduces the driving force of the circulation pump (6) when the calculated power-element cooling capacity is greater than a prescribed criterion value.
