Abstract:
A copolymer having a softening point as high as 100 to 135°C which is obtained by thermally polymerizing cyclopentadiene and&sol or dicyclopentadiene with a vinylaromatic compound in the presence of a solvent in an amount of 0.1 to 0.5 times, excluding 0.5 times, by weight the amount of all monomers&semi and a copolymer obtained by hydrogenating the high−softening−point copolymer. The hydrogenated copolymer is suitable for use as a high−softening−point tackifier resin in hot−melt adhesives, etc.
