Abstract:
In order to provide copolymerized polyphenylene sulfide fibers that have a low thermal shrinkage and fine size, exhibits excellent fusibility, and is suitable for use as a paper making binder, the copolymerized polyphenylene sulfide fibers are formed so as to be characterized by: comprising a copolymerized polyphenylene sulfide which includes a p-phenylene sulfide unit as the main component, and includes, in repeating units, 3-40 mol% of a m-phenylene sulfide unit; and having a crystallinity degree of 10.0-30.0%, an average fiber diameter of 5-25 μm, and a hot water shrinkage factor of at most 25.0% at 98°C.
