Abstract:
Provided is a copper-based catalyst. The catalyst comprises a carrier and a copper active ingredient supported on the carrier, wherein the carrier is a microporous molecular sieve of which the molar ratio of SiO2/Al2O3 is ≥ 3000. Also provided is a method for preparing the catalyst, and a method for preparing EG from DMO using the catalyst by means of hydrogenation. By selecting the microporous high silicon molecular sieve as a carrier of a catalyst, when the catalyst is used in the preparation of EG by catalyzing DMO by means of hydrogenation, the selectivity of 1,2-BDO can be controlled to be very low, usually as low as 0.2% or less, and at the same time, a high conversion rate of DMO and a high selectivity of EG can also be maintained.
