Abstract:
Disclosed is an anode collector that is for a lithium ion secondary battery and that has a large discharge capacity and high strength. The anode collector uses a copper-clad steel foil (10) that is for supporting an anode active material of a lithium ion secondary battery, and that has a steel sheet (6) as a core material and has a copper cladding layer (7) on both surfaces thereof of which the average film thickness on each surface is 0.02-5.0 µm, the total average thickness including the copper cladding layers (7) being 3-100 µm and tCu/t being no greater than 0.3. Ordinary steel, austenitic stainless steel, or ferritic stainless steel, for example, can be used as the steel sheet (6). The copper cladding layers (7) are, for example, electroplated copper layers (including that which has been rolled after plating). On the surface of the copper cladding layers (7), a carbon active material layer that has been densified by a strong roll press, for example, is formed, and the anode collector is configured from the copper-clad steel foil (10) and the aforementioned carbon active material layer.
