Abstract:
[Problem] To reduce copy processing time by selecting an optimum copy method according to the content of delta data and the conditions of the system. [Solution] When re-synchronizing a primary disk storage device and a secondary disk storage device with each other, which form a copy pair and to which the same data was written before being disconnected from each other for a certain period of time during which data was written only to the primary disk storage device, a host computer according to the present invention selects either host computer intervention copy processing, which is performed via the host computer, or inter-disk-control-device copy processing, which is performed between a first disk control device that manages the primary disk storage device and a second disk control device that manages the secondary disk storage device, on the basis of copy processing-related information including the amount of delta data between the primary disk storage device and the secondary disk storage device, the amount of data transferred between these disk storage devices, and performance information about these disk storage devices.
